Our Cape Verde Winter Sun 2013

1 week ago Louise and I were boarding our flight home from Cape Verde, 1 week! It already seems a lot longer than that!

Louise and I had a great 7 days soaking up some winter sun, waking up to a view of a snowy Gatwick Airport from our (rather comfy!) Premier Inn window to relaxing on a beach watching the sun go down less than 12 hours later was a great feeling!

We stayed on the Island of Sal at the Melia Tortuga Beach resort  (Upgraded to a 3 bed Villa for some unknown reason???) for one of the laziest weeks holiday I’ve ever experienced. Thankfully we did plan it to be lazy, days spent reading, sleeping, eating and drinking were just what we wanted after a busy Christmas period. We were a little adventurous for a few hours with a small 4×4 tour to see the Island, but to be honest Sal isn’t a destination that has much to reveal, it’s long sandy coastline and windy nature attracted both beach and watersports lovers.

We’re already thinking ahead to another winter sun break next year, it was perfect to escape the UK winter!
