breatheandchill.com website launched

Just put the finishing touches to a new website I created for myself and thought i’d share it with the world to earn some extra karma points.

www.breatheandchill.com

So what does it do?

It reduces your stress level and helps you find some calm in your busy life. Breathing is really important, not just for keeping you alive but for controlling the states your body and mind fall into. Breathe shallow and fast will make you feel very different than breathing slow measured breaths. The app does nothing more than guide your breathing for 60 seconds to help calm and relax you.

Instructions.

When ever you feel stressed notice your breathing pattern, now change it! Go to my breathe and chill website and click the button to begin, then follow the instructions.

Prepare your breathing by taking a few breaths as the timer counts down from 5 to 1, exhaling as the counter hits zero, then slowly breathe in;

Breathe in slowly through your nose to the count of four (in your head) and feel your stomach move out slightly, as the air goes all the way down into your abdomen.

Hold your breath for a count of 2.

Breathe out to a count of four through your nose. Don’t try and rush the breath, just let it leave. Everything should be slow and relaxed and natural.

Hold your breath for a count of 2.

60 seconds will be enough to bring your body and mind back to a more relaxed and chilled state.

Disclaimer

Im not a doctor and the breatheandchill.com website was designed for fun purposes only, if you feel light headed whilst completing the exercise STOP!

Do I need the website?

Not really, (great sales technique huh??) but I created it to help guide anyone in changing their breathing patterns, if of course they notice they have an elevated breathing pattern going on!

Technology.

It’s created with Hype using HTML5 so should work in any modern browser or smartphone. It works pretty well on an iPhone and i’d suggest you press the ‘Add to Home Screen’ in iOS safari as it will create a nicer full screen version to use on your iPhone.

Thanks.

Thanks to ZENandTech podcast that gave me the idea for this little app.
